Collection: Grounding & Earthing Mats

FAQ's

Is it safe?

Absolutely! Our indoor grounding products are completely safe. They’re designed to provide a gentle and beneficial connection to the Earth's energy, similar to the feeling of standing barefoot on grass—right from the comfort of your bed.

What is grounding?

Grounding, or earthing, refers to the practice of connecting to the earth's surface electrons. The simplest way to do this is by walking barefoot on grass, dirt, or sand, or by swimming in the ocean.

How long will my grounding mat last?

This mat will last for many years if you follow the care instructions provided. We recommend occasionally using a conductivity tester to check its surface conductivity and ensure there is no internal damage.

How should I clean it?

We recommend hand-washing your mat every couple of weeks with a simple, natural, additives-free liquid dish soap and warm water if you use it daily. Do not put it in the washing machine or dishwasher.

Should I sleep directly on it?

Absolutely, though you might prefer to cover your mat with a bedsheet. The strength of the grounding connection remains the same.

Can I use a power bar to plug in my mat?

Yes, however, we recommend using a socket tester to verify its safety and ensure it is in good working order with a strong connection.

How do I wash the grounding sheets?

To keep your silver-threaded Grounding Company sheets conductive, regular washing is crucial. This removes body sweat and natural oils from the silver threads, ensuring they remain effective. Follow these care instructions for best results:

DO's:

  • Wash your sheets weekly or at least twice a month.
  • Use a washing machine with warm water (around 105°F or 40°C).
  • Line dry your sheets, or use a dryer on low heat if necessary.
  • Iron on low heat only when needed.
  • Wait at least one hour after applying lotions or body oils before using the sheets.

DON'Ts:

  • Avoid washing with bleach or fabric softener.
  • Do not use whitening or oxi-detergents.
  • Avoid detergents containing oils like lavender or coconut oil.
  • Do not use dryer sheets.
  • Refrain from applying lotions or body oils just before bedtime.

Using any prohibited products or practices may damage the silver threads, reducing or eliminating the sheets' conductivity and effectiveness.

By following these guidelines, you can preserve the conductive properties of your Grounding Company sheets and enjoy their benefits for a longer time.

Can I put my regular sheet over my grounding sheet?

For optimal results, grounding works best when your bare skin comes into direct contact with our Grounding Company products.

While the Earth's energy can pass through thin, slightly moist materials to some extent, direct skin contact is the most effective method (even minimal contact, like a fingertip, works in nature).

We recommend avoiding the use of additional sheets over your grounding sheet, as this may reduce its conductivity. Rest assured, our grounding sheets are designed to be soft and comfortable for sleeping. Regular washing is also recommended to maintain their performance and longevity.

How do I know if my grounding products work?

To ensure your grounding sheet is working properly, you’ll first need to verify that your home’s electrical outlets are grounded. Outlets with a third prong, known as the grounding pin, are designed to connect devices to the Earth’s energy—precisely what grounding sheets utilize.

While most outlets with a grounding pin are typically connected to the Earth, it’s a good idea to confirm this using an outlet tester. These tools are simple to use and can be purchased online or at your local hardware store.

What is earthing? What does it do for the body?

Earthing, also called Grounding, is the practice of connecting your body to the Earth's natural electrical energy found on its surface.

You can experience this connection by walking barefoot outdoors or using "barefoot substitutes" like those we introduce on our site. Our Grounding Company products are designed to help you connect to the Earth's energy using the ground port in standard home outlets or a simple ground rod kit.

These products are made with conductive materials that transfer the Earth's energy to your body through direct skin contact, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of grounding indoors.
